have shot someone at gas station on portrero avenue near san pablo. we were over the scene shortly after the shooting. police say they responded to emergency call at the chevron station but will not say exactly what the call involved whether a robbery fight or something else still unclear. they confirmed they shot one person and different police official tells us that person is in critical condition right now. we have a crew on the scene. we bring awe live report from the latest information tonight on abc 7 news at 11:00 o'clock. there is more breaking news. this in pittsburgh. sky 7 hd is live right now. that's what you are looking at. over a police scene near the pittsburgh bart station that we believe is part of ongoing situation that involved a somewhating at the bart station and caused delays for the system. victim was shot in the parking lot and suffered chest and elbow wound wounds. he was taken to john muir hospital. again this scene is in a neighborhood near the bart station in pittsburgh. we are still working to nail it down and figure out exactly what the connection is h

evening i'm dan. search for gunman now called off. this began at 4:30 this afternoon with a text message about a man with a gun. these are pictures from the city college times. police going door to door on campus but right now all indications are that the san jose city college campus is safe. 7 news reporter jon is there live for us tonight to walk us through exactly what happened there this evening. john? >>reporter: well first off everything is back to normal. the all clear was given at about 7:45 tonight. nearly 4 hours after this situation started. now just after 4:00 o'clock the san jose college dispatch got a call from someone saying they were approached by another person who had a gun. man described as wearing a white t-shirt. after that police descended on the tech center where classes and final exams were taking place. students alerted by text. some students also texted themselves from the student center and financial aid center and as precaution places swarmed that location. san jose police 911 also got a call. as a result heavily armed officers went through all 5 stori

see near santa theresa boulevard hit and miss activity. it was crazy earlier today. look at the rainfall, four inches in some parts. mount st. helena, two inches. inch and a half in half moon bay and close to an inch for san jose. is this it? is there any more out there? we'll take a look at seven-day forecast coming up. >> ama: one of the biggest trouble spots is where parts of the creek is threatening to overflow the banks, it runs through east palo alto and menlo park and palo alto. they have been calling them warning of potential flooding in the area. at least several hundred people of east palo alto along university avenue have lost their homes. police officers are driving along neighboring streets and broadcasting warnings to residents. creek is already at least four feet above flood stage. the creek is likely to overflow its banks near the creek bridge. free sandbags are available at airport terminal and also the little league field. >>> in the north bay, heavy rain contributed to this watery mess along highway 121 in the transition in sonoma county. major intersection wa

muni in san francisco. woman in a wheelchair was hit by a trolley at market and church street. we are told she either leaned over or fell in front of the trolley. witness say the trolley kept going dragging the woman for almost a block. emergency crew had to use air bag and wooden block in order to raise that trolley. that's what you see the firefighters rescue crew doing there. sadly the woman has suffered life threatening injuries, we believe. but we are checking on that of course. now to a separate incident. blown transformer has shut down all metro muni lines downtown. that's the k, l and j lines. bus bridges in effect to get people around. very bad night for muni. we have more open both of these stories on 7 news leather:00 over on channel 7 and of course updates here as need be. >>> well now to the weather. much of the bay area continues to dry out and clean up after trio of storms. the sky 7 hd video shows some of the toppled trees around san francisco. in other parts of the city in the area there have been problems as well in san anselmo. 30,000 gallon of raw sewage escaped fr

open after a big rig struck a person on the road half an hour ago. we'll have details coming up at 11:00. let's check in with leigh glaser when the rain will return. >> it's been a crazy morning around the bay area with that heavy front moving through. you can see behind me live doppler is quiet right now. most of the storm system has moved to the south and east of the bay area. we're not picking up any returns at all. let me show you our 24-hour rainfall totals mainly that occurred this morning. over 2 inches in santa rosa. three inches in mounted st. helena. san francisco inch and a half and lesser amounts as you head towards the santa clara valley. let's take a look at the five day storm totals. three storms moved in here. you can see mount st. helena, close to 13 inches. santa rosa, close to 8 inches as well as san rafael. san francisco close to 4 inches. oakland close to 4 inches and san jose racked up close to 2 1/2 inches. as you mentioned, another system is headed for the bay area, not as strong. we'll take a look at the timing coming up. >> a scary situation in pescadero. fir

happened. >> she says the last time she saw her daughter was last night at bedroom time. >> she was staying with your parents? >> yes. >> reporter: just after 11:00, she noticed a fire in her brother's room. you go see the charred window an example of how ferocious the fire burned. she tried to put it out but it was too much. >> you couldn't put it out. >> she escaped along with six other family members, but her parents and her daughter did not. in the apartment downstairs, neighbors heard a commotion and quickly realized it was fire. she says she is scream, call the fire department and then rushed everyone out. three of her grandchildren were there for the weekend and they got out safely but it was scary situation. >> what did you think of that? >> it was pretty cool, i started to cry a lot. >> makes say fire teams worked fast to control the situation but they say a san jose police officer was especially heroic. he arrived on the scene quickly, yelled at neighbors to keep a safe distance and then tried to enter the burning apartment. right now the investigation of this fire continu

evacuations are underway at this hour. volatile materials were found in the 400 block of parrot drive. the substances are being disposed of there is no danger to the community but they want nearby residents to shelter in place. we'll have more information and later tonight over on channel 7 at 11:00. >> south bay freeway that turned into a crime scene. authorities walked along the roadway looking for evidence after a driver reported his car was riddled by bullets near the steechblts creek interchange. it forced investigators to shut down highway 85 for more than an hour. the driver of the car a marine corps officer was able to pull into the parking lot. sky7hd shows three bullet holes in a government ironed pontiac along with two shattered windows. he called 911 to report the shooting. that triggered a massive response by the highway patrol and santa clara sheriff's office the southbound lanes were shut down while a swarm of deputies combed the shoulders for any spent casings. it occurred after one in the afternoon and the lanes were reopened about two hours later. marine recruiter he was
